Obama On Grandmother And Campaign: "Bittersweet"

Obama On Grandmother And Campaign: "Bittersweet"

This moment in Senator Obama's life touches me, for it reminds me of how it feels to lose one's parents and loved ones. I'm old enough to consider myself an adult orphan. My parents died long after I had "grown up."

His inclusion of her story during a campaign speech will help keep her story in our consciousness. This is a good thing for we owe our parents and all of our ancestors a great deal for what they contribute to our existence today.

May the Obama family find comfort during the time of this loss.
